Dan Johnson is a longtime resident of South Florida. In addition to consulting with the Florida Institute for Health Innovation, he is the founding Director of the University of Miami’s IDEA Exchange. The program addresses Florida’s current opioid crisis through research and harm reduction strategies.  Dan was instrumental in the design, implementation and subsequent launch of the IDEA Exchange in December of 2016; and continues to help guide the program’s services. He is also in the final stages of completing his doctorate in Implementation Science at Northeastern University and an MPH in Epidemiology at Harvard University. Dan has an extensive background in finance and investment management; previously holding portfolio management designations at Morgan Stanley and AIG. Today, Dan’s interest and commitment is in researching and developing strategies that address healthcare inequalities, social determinants of health and evidence-based program implementation.
