Laurie Fucini-Joy holds a Civil Engineering degree from Florida State University, and has more than 12 years of experience working on transportation-related projects. Laurie worked for 8 years in Boston, MA, as a project manager for the United States Department of Transportation. She was instrumental in providing guidance on the federal process from the planning through the construction stages on a variety of roadway and transit projects. Her work includes partnerships with State DOTs, Regional Transit Authorities, Project Management Oversight Contractors of one of the largest transit providers in the nation. Her experience includes providing stakeholders with requirements on federal programs such as funding sources, grant development, discretionary program requirements, accessibility requirements, and construction inspection. Laurie moved to Miami in 2014 and since that time has lead projects in the South Florida that are related to improving the health of a community. These projects have centered around making systematic, policy, and built-environment changes. Laurie is passionate and excited to be using her experience to make positive impacts to the area.
