The Florida Institute for Health Innovation and University Of Miami Department Of Public Health Sciences have established the “The Dr. Lillian Rivera Annual Lecture Series.” The recently retired, Dr. Lillian Rivera, has long been a trailblazing leader on the local, regional and national levels in public health for many decades. In honor of her many accomplishments in public health, we have developed an annual lecture, named in her honor. Our inaugural speaker will be Dr. Brian Castrucci, Chief Executive Officer from the de Beaumont Foundation and a strong supporter of Dr. Rivera. The de Beaumont Foundation is known for advancing policy, building partnerships, and strengthening public health to create communities where people can achieve their best possible health. Brian will discuss “What Makes Us Sick and How We Heal – System Changes for a New Age of Health.”

The inaugural lecture of the Dr. Lillian Rivera Annual Lecture Series will be held during National Public Health Week on April 4, 2019, from 12 -1 pm at the Sylvester Cancer Center, room 1301 on the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine Campus.
