Dr. West is the lead for the Institute’s Research Program on Community Health and Equity. This program is built on decades of convening local community leaders, organizing community forums and working with healthcare, social service and political institutions across Florida and the United States. The focus of this initiative is to evaluate and lead research examining the impact of policies, laws, and governmental programs at the local, state, national, or global level on community health and equity. This includes population health, advanced payment models and operational mechanisms aimed at improving societal and structural influences on population-level patterns of social and environmental risk factors, interconnections and pathways determining cultural and overall well-being.
