Susan G. Komen South Florida 2015 Community Profile Report

In 2014, the Institute provided Susan G. Komen® South Florida with qualitative data collection and analysis of  breast health needs and resources to better understand the challenges facing five targeted vulnerable communities

Together with the Komen South Florida Affiliate and community partners, FIHI conducted nine focus groups, 27 key informant interviews and distributed 1,000 surveys in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.

As stated in the report, the purpose of the Community Profile was to:

  • Establish focused breast health awareness and breast cancer education and outreach
  • Increase partnerships for the improved continuum of care
  • Establish focused granting priorities
  • Impact public policy
  • Guide marketing and publicity campaigns
  • Strengthen sponsorship and development efforts

Findings reflected the importance of working collaboratively at the community level to provide breast health education and early detection. Read the full report and Executive Summary here:
